Autotrophs
Autotrophs, or producers, include plants and other photosynthetic organisms which can use solar energy directly. Autotrophs from Plitvice Lakes include: the edraianthus tenuifolius, the Ranuculus scutatus (Frog flower), the Scilla laterei and the drosera rotundifolia.
Heterotrophs
Heterotrophs, or consumers, include all animals and some microorganisms, which cannot use the suns energy and must obtain their energy through eating food. Heterotrophs from Plitvice Lakes include: brown bears, weasels, fallow deer and martens.
